The Balmoral, a place steeped in history
Built in 1859 under the name Hôtel Victoria, the Balmoral is one of the oldest hotels in Menton still in operation. Its Belle Époque façade, discreet moldings, and wrought-iron balconies tell the story of a time when aristocrats came to spend the winter on the Riviera.
Renamed the Balmoral, it was redesigned by architect Félix Vérola, who added a columned attic and sculpted pediment, before being modernized in the 1930s with an elegant rotunda dining room. Popular with aristocrats, it has welcomed Archduke Albert of Austria, Prince Jaime of Bourbon and the Cáceres family from Venezuela. A witness to a golden age, this hotel in the center of Menton still welcomes guests today with the same promise: an exceptional location with a family atmosphere and a human touch.
